Award for Jermain Jermain Defoe has been named London Young Footballer of 2004 at the BBC London Sports Awards. It's been quite a year for the young striker who joined us in January, scored on his debut for us, made it into the full England squad and just missed out on Euro 2004 before scoring in a World Cup qualifier in Poland. He has already bagged 11 goals in all competitions this season - plus that England goal - and won another six caps for his country. Jermain told our radio partners BBC London: "Joining Tottenham was a big decision for me but without making that decision, this probably wouldn't have been possible. I'm delighted with the award, many thanks."
