Keane unhappy at being subbed
Tottenham HotspurTottenham Hotspur striker Robbie Keane admits he is becoming frustrated at continually being substituted by manager Martin Jol.
The Republic of Ireland international has been replaced in the last five matches in which he has started for Spurs.
He proved his worth to the team at the weekend by scoring the only goal of the game at Blackburn Rovers before being taken off by Jol in a tactical move.
Keane concedes the situation is causing him some concern, although he insists he is happy to put the team before his own personal plight.
"I've been taken off in the last few games and I've not been happy," commented Keane.
"You want to play in every game and for every minute you can get.
"But it was more important to win, that was a massive result. The three points is what matters.
"I've not been playing too well lately so hopefully that will give me confidence. The whole team hasn't been playing particularly well either.
"We would be lying if we said we don't look at the bottom of the table. But if you look too much you start to think you are in a crisis
So let sell him to Everton!

If he is not happy, he should try to score more or at least try to pass the darn round thing to Defoe...

I just don't understand how he can be unhappy at being subbed. Atleast he is playing regularly. Compared this to Kanoute ..who can't even play nowadays ! Keane seldom scores goals and seldom creates them. So how can he complaint at being replaced with about 30 or so mins to go ?
Keane has never been a prolific scorer and don't think he ever will. In Hoddle's words : he always needs 3 chances to score 1 goal. He doesn't have any composure in front of goal and always wastes one-on-one chances with goalies. How many of those chances he have wasted this season ? If he had scored a few of them, we would have been better off in EPL.
Despite that, I think Keane can still be a very useful player for us. But if he is not prepared to be subbed when necessary, then he is free to try his luck elsewhere. I don't think he can find a better team than Spurs who is prepared to be patient with him. We have not really dropped him at any time since he joined us. Don't think many big clubs will be prepared to do the same and play him regularly despite him not scoring consistently. He should have learnt from his experience with Leeds.

Have you ever noticed how Keane always seem to lose the ball? And then instead of trying to win the ball back, he throws his arms up, shakes his head and looks at the ref like he should be given a free-kick. Come on Keane. This Saturday against Man City, show us again why there's only one Keano.

Come on Keane. This Saturday against Man City, show us again why there's only one Keano. amen to that, sir..amen! keane is well-loved by spurs fans. maybe now it's goal-drought time for him but i believe with all my heart, that he'll back to his scoring form again. i mean, even top scorers have their bad goal days...

After he just scored a winner for us? And when we need him the most with Defoe suspended and possiblily transfer to another club soon? Let's give Keano more support (at least not boo-ing him if you are attending matches)
