No worry, as this is unlikely. Very unlikely.
No clubs will be stupid enough to sell one of their three strikers when not financially pressured.
And to sell all three without the guarantee that replacements are already in place...it is just pure lunatic.

Makes sense. But a lot depends on Defoe himself. If he wants to go and win some trophies with Chelski, that there's little Spurs can do to keep him.

If he wants to go...as long as we are compensated properly, say at £30m, then why not? We can afford to lose one striker and should have decent chance to capture another replacement. But IMO, not two out of three in January.
Anyone knows whether we need to give a cut to our feeder club, West Spam, a % of the £30m?

If he want to go then let him go to Ch*lski. How about 25M+ Scott Parker?

IMO, to answer whether is it right to sell Defoe in January, the following two questions needed to be answered first: 1) Can we sell Defoe in January? As we signed him late on 31/1/04, and rightfully, he can't be transferred to another English club at least one year later.
2) How much we need to pay Charlton or West Ham? He is still under 23, hence even it is not stipulated when we bought him, surely we still need to pay a % as compensation to his former clubs?
If Q1 is a no, then there is no point in debating whether we should sell him when his stock is high.
If Q2 is a very high %, say 10% to both clubs, then IMO, even 30m is not enough.
As apparently nobody knows the answers to the above...it is quite pointless to debate on how much to sell Defoe for, or even whether to sell him in January or not.
Just my opinion...

look, fellas. i'm not a genius in all these stuff. but i'd say the BOD is made up of dingbats if they sell keane, defoe and kanoute. i mean, look at our injury-list history. do we have any good back-up strikers if all three are injured..or worse, sold? i know the younger lads are good but i dun think they are ready for premiership action. until we have a solid back-up for the front line, i'd say, keep them.
will defoe survive in chelski? duh. even now the chelsa players are fighting for a place in the 1st eleven. what chances do our tiny defoe could have?
