My mate works for Chelsea, said that a £25million fee has been offered by Chelsea and agreed by Tottenham. Also includes the option of Damian Duff for £5million.
What do you think guys?

Anyone wants to welcome this guy? ..........
*wait in silence*
Hmm.....no response, this place needs more posters! ;D
Don't think it will happen in January. He can't move to another English club within one year under normal circumstances.
Duff and 5m? This has to be a joke...Duff was bought at a ridiculous price, and now is valued at 20m?
Tell your mate to show proof for what he said...I can assure you that he will not be able to do that.

For a start, he works for Chelsea... Seriously, unless he is Peter Kenyon, don't think most other employees will know who the club is going to buy. Be reasonable, and think over what your mate has told you. It is too similar to all those rumours doing their round daily on various fans sites. I personally don't mind some clubs to come in and bid 25-30m (net) for Defoe. It will actually give Arnesen a huge war chest to fund his purchases. And this may eventually benefit the club more.

My mate works for Chelsea, said that ......blah blah blah....... yeah well my friend's girlfriend is the best friend of the daughter of the tea-lady that works at Chelsea and seems she overheard Abramovich telling Mourinho to prepare for the worst coz Putin has finally got the proof to put him behind bars for good. And then she heard Mourinho wailing like a baby. which of course means Defoe is going nowhere.

Anything is possible and the amount of money in the game is killing it, I suppose you can blame Bosman for the current state of affairs. I remember the great Liverpool teams of the 70's that conquered Europe with a squad of 15 to 16 players. Nowadays you need a squad of over 20 first teamers just to stay in the EPL.

defoe is an asset, whether on the field or on paper, but funkygav unless ur mate is mourinho or kenyon or even the russian czar himself, i will take what ever he says with a pinch of salt, if you take it any other way well mate, i think you need to go to GG.net or topspurs and check out the amount of kaki surat layang we have to layan there...which is why people like me and justin hardly believe any of this type of stuff anymore.
my personal opinion tho is if we get a silly money offer for him, we should sell him coz we can bring in somebody like koller who will make keano a much much more effective and efficient replacement for defoe.

Any future Spurs team should be built around Robinson, King and Defoe. The others still need to prove their worth consistently. There is no use getting huge amount of money for any of them because it has been proven we can't attract top players. And even if we do, there is no guarantee they will do well for us. Look at what happened with Les Ferdinand whom we bought to replace Sheringham. Since then, we are still trying to find that 20-goals-a-season striker.
We simply cannot sell Defoe if we have any ambitions. If Defoe is to leave for Chelsea, Levy and Co might as well join him.
And don't put too much expectation on Arnesen. He is not a magician. Not all the players he is going to buy will turn out to be a Ronaldo.

Agee with you Archiebald, Levy, MJ and FA can't do much if he himself want to go. Yes, i want him to stay and hope our mgmt can prove to him and us that they are commited to bring our club forward. If we want him to stay, we need to buy few more player.Come on you Levy
