Players
Cudicini – 7 – Saved a couple of tricky shots and a good Jimenez header, solid on crosses and probably not to blame for the goal.
Assou-Ekotto – 7 – Was able to get forwards at times although not as much as usual and despite some rough treatment stuck to his defensive task well all afternoon.
Corluka – 6 – Exposed by Stanislas’ pace a couple of times and was not able to get upfield or pass the ball as effectively as usual.
Bassong – 7 – Hard game for him physically but he did what was required of him, proved a good partner for King again and still poses a threat at set-pieces.
King – 7 – The rock in the Spurs defence again even if he had to play second fiddle to Cole in many of the physical contests. One diving block in the first half was sensational and he deserved a goal with a fine header.
Palacios – 7 – Shielded the back four excellently again despite the Hammers pouring forwards in numbers and was again much better with his own passing.
Huddlestone – 6 – With Spurs outnumbered in midfield he found it hard to create time and space while West Ham picked him off at times. Some decent passing though.
Modric – 7 – Not as influential as it recent games but still passed purposefully and got into good positions, even if he missed one very good chance.
LENNON – 8 – Man of the Match. Looked like another game where he tortured his defender but provided no end product until he laid one on a plate for Modric that thrashed in the winner with his weaker foot. Matchwinning moments.
Keane – 7 – Came deep to link the midfield to the strikers and enabled Defoe to have more space although chances were few and far between for himself before his late withdrawal.
Defoe – 7 – One big chance, he went for power and helped turn the game. More selfless running was impressive and the continuing evolving of his game gives much promise.
Substitutes
Crouch – 6 – Provided an aerial ability late on when Spurs needed to keep the ball up top.
O’Hara – 6 – Late change for tiring Modric to add legs and waste time.
Naughton – 6 – Later change to waste time.
Manager
Redknapp – 7 – Harry has the Indian sign over his old club and once again did the trick when the game seemed to be slipping away. Has instilled a belief that we can win when slightly below our best and our improved fitness and strength was again called on in this game.
