Gomes – 7 – Seemed comfortable enough until his unfortunate injury and Spurs will be hoping it does not keep him sidelined for long.
Assou-Ekotto – 8 – Cool as ever at the back and lack of penetration from Hull allowed him licence to bomb down the line on occasions to reasonable effect.
Hutton – 8 – Back in the side and back to his best. Frighteningly strong, physically up for the fight and always willing to pass and move forwards.
Corluka – 7 – Again did not look as settled in the centre as at right-back but coped well for most of the game and won his fiar share of headers and tackles.
Bassong – 7 – Was always going to be hard to repeat his brilliant debut but recovered from a slightly shaky start to cope well with the threat of Folan.
Palacios – 8 – Another fantastic display of chasing, harrying and biting into tackles. The icing on the cake was his burst forwards and calm finish for his first Spurs goal.
Huddlestone – 8 – One of his virtuoso displays and his best for us for some time. Passing much more incisive, was able to dictate the tempo and play the game at his pace and set up the opener.
Modric – 7 – So easy on the eye that you sometimes forget how influential he is. Possession was king for Spurs and nobody kept it better than the wily Croatian.
Lennon – 8 – The counterattacking style of Spurs was perfect for the winger and he constantly threatened before exploiting tiring home legs with two late assists.
Keane – 9 – The critics have been made to eat their words as he performed to his brilliant best. Always a menace, he laid on one for Palacios, another for Defoe and even scored with a header.
DEFOE – 9 – Man of the Match. As close to a perfect 10 as a striker can get and undoubtedly his best display in either spell at Spurs. A cracker with the left foot enabled his confidence to soar further and his final two thunderbolts were extraordinary.
Substitutes
Cudicini – 7 – Defence left him exposed for the goal but handled everything else was his usual composure.
Crouch – 6 – Too late to make an impact but his time will come.
Bentley – 6 – Late change and no time to shine.
Manager
Redknapp – 9 – The confidence he has given the side is one of the main reasons behind this display – one of the best away from home in recent memory. The players look hungry, are fighting for their places, and appear stronger and fitter than last season. Let the miracles continue!
