I have mixed feelings over King's selection for England. While it is a testament to his ability that he can perform at the highest level even without training, I somehow (and selfishly) hope Capello won't pick him so he has lower risk of aggravating that knee of his.
I tie the fate of our team to his knee. He can have mine if he asks.
p/s: Just saw news that 'Arry shares the same feeling.

Yeah, me too. I truly hope that he's there just to make up the numbers, not get first team action with england.

Great news! He is withdrawn from the England squad. Now he can rest for the next weekend's game against Blackburn.

I guess Rio Ferdi n John Terry must be relieved that King has withdrew from the England squad becoz Capello rate Ledley higher than those 2 especially Rio who is quite "LEMBIK"...

Can't imagine the feelings of Woody and guys like Upson when one-legged King is still selected ahead of them.
Anyway, King is rated the English defender with the best defensive technique, even our most hated Monsieur Thierry (I hate Pires more than him) admits it, risking wrath by his own fans. While Woody is better at the aerial battles, King is the better tackler.
Rio is good but cannot perform well enough without his muscleman, Vidic. Terry is worse without Carvalho. Similar to our Dawson oso lah. Without King or Woody, pretty clueless.
