Is this true, guys? Heard anything? -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool want Keane By Neil Vaughan - 29/06/2008 13:03 LIVERPOOL want to sign Spurs striker Robbie Keane, according to the News of the World.
The Sunday paper are reporting that the Reds want Keane to wear the famous number 7 shirt next season, which has previously been worn by one of his boyhood heroes, Kenny Dalglish.
Rafa Benitez is said to be ready to offer a £20million player-plus-cash deal, which includes former Spurs trainee Peter Crouch.
Keane has been at Spurs since 2002 and is settled in London, but this latest link could really test his loyalty to the club.

Replace Keane with Crouch? Spurs would never agree to such a ridiculous deal.

Keane has put in a transfer request according to the useless and unreliable UK Sun paper.
I hope Keane will come out to say that it's all rubbish and that he has Spurs in his blood. Come on Keane...whenever you're ready.....any minute now.......

Spurs shocker as Keane requests Liverpool move 22:07 01/07/2008
Robbie Keane has reportedly told Tottenham Hotspur Football Club he wants a move to Anfield.
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has made the Republic of Ireland international a major summer target, and is willing to pay £5million and Peter Crouch to land the striker.
And The Sun reports that Keane has actually told Juande Ramos he wants to move to Merseyside, to join the club he supported as a boy growing up in Ireland.
If the Spaniard agrees to let him go, he could be left with just one striker next season if he also loses Manchester United and Barcelona target Dimitar Berbatov.

Though there maybe some truth, I am not declaring anything here but pls note:
The club Keane supported as a boy, Celtic Location of Keane at the moment, on honeymoon [yes, so its a really good idea to discuss this when u r supposedly with your new bride]

I believe he is tempted but not "desperate" as the media makes us believe. Furthermore, I'm not sure Keane, who sometimes lost his head over his mid-game substitutions, willing to join the Rotational RafalutionTM.
However, Liverpool do play in the CL regularly (more due to the lack of consistency from the chasing pack rather than any brilliance on their part....well...apart from Torres).

Rafa gives up on Villa but wants Keane
Updated: July 10, 2008, 3:52 PM UK
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has ruled out making a move for Spain striker David Villa but said Robbie Keane is still on the Reds' radar. Benitez, who has allowed striker Peter Crouch to join Portsmouth, had been linked with the Valencia player who top-scored at last month's Euro 2008 finals. 'I said the other day that Villa is one of the names we had on our list, but I can say at this moment that it is not an option for us,' Benitez told Liverpool's website. 'We know Villa is a very good player, we know the price and we know the players we have, so when you consider everything we decided he was one of the names but, at this moment, not our target.' However, Benitez confirmed that a move for Tottenham Hotspur's Ireland striker Robbie Keane was a possibility. 'Keane is one of the other names and OK we are still working with other names. We were in contact and we will see now,' he said.

I'm just about to post about this as well. ( football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_3802120,00.html). Well f**k Rafa. If he wanna take Keane out, it should be for no less than 20mil. Keane not only brings quality on the pitch but off it as well (and you know it). And apart from Torres or Gerrard, I don't see any Liverpool players that can actually improve our team or positionally useful for our formation, if exchange is on Rafa's mind (maybe Reina but we already have our new keeper). Having said that, I don't begrudge Keane if he wanna go to have CL games because a player of his class more than deserves it. I just wish it is with us rather than another team.
