To all spurs fans in Malaysia...I know most of you luv Keano and do not want him to move (so do yourstruly)..but if he wants to leave so be it...you don't say that he is not loyal or ungrateful to spurs...you can't find a player in modern days football that is so dedicated and commited to a club he represent...and keano is one of a few players in that category...not only spurs fans but leeds, wolves and coventry fans also luv him and they were also sad to see him go but they knew his ambition...
We must remember that all good, wonderful things will come to an end one day...so do we human beings...we will not live forever cos one day we will die...if keano wish to leave and play for l'pool..let him go in peace and wish him luck for his future... and actually age is not in his side cos he is 28 and he needs to play in the champions league before its to late...with or without keano spurs must move forward and aim for a top 4 finnish in the new season.

Robbie Keane heads to Anfield in £20m deal Robbie Keane is due to arrive at early next week to undergo a medical and complete his £18million move from Tottenham. The deal will cast further doubt over Rafael Benitez's ability to pay Aston Villa a similar figure for Gareth Barry. The England midfielder is set to return to first team action against Odense at Villa Park today in the InterToto Cup third round second leg for the first time since he demanded a move to Anfield. The issue of having to choose between his two main transfer targets has been hanging over Benitez after he failed to raise extra money by negotiating the £16m sale of Xabi Alonso to Juventus or Inter Milan. The Liverpool manager was absent from Melwood yesterday as European Championship winner Alonso returned to training seeking urgent talks over his future. Benitez was believed to be busy finalising the Keane deal, which could rise to £20m if Liverpool win either the Premier League or Champions League during his time at Anfield. The Republic of Ireland striker, 28, will sign for his boyhood favourites more than a decade after turning down the chance to join Liverpool when he left Crumlin United in Dublin to start his career in England. Keane chose Wolves because he felt he would have a better chance of first team football. He went on to play for Coventry, Inter Milan and Leeds before moving to White Hart Lane where he has become a crowd favourite over the last six years with his consistent goal record. It became clear he would be leaving when Tottenham boss Juande Ramos did not even name him among the substitutes for Thursday night's friendly against Hercules in Spain. He also refused to discuss the Keane situation afterwards. Benitez, however, is not giving up the chase for Barry - who was abused by angry Villa fans when he played for the reserves against Walsall in midweek - and still hopes to raise the money by selling players or persuading the club to release more funds. www.thisislondon.co.uk/sport/article-23521357-details/article.do?ito=newsnow&

Sounds like this deal will be completed in a day or two. There is no loyalty with players la. Loyalty only exists among us, poor fans. If Ledley King was not injury-prone, I wonder if he would still be wearing our white.

Hey guys...they're all professionals...to them loyalty is no.4...no.1 is pay cheque..no.2 achievements and no.3 glamour...but in the case of keano,is all about achievements...cos only with l'pool he he'll get the achievements he rightly deserves (thats what he thinks)..but he has achieve his no.1 target...that is to play in the champions league that spurs cannot give him...wish him the best of luck and thanks for the six memory years(I'm sure he'll pass the medic test)

Premier League - Keane joins Liverpool from angry Spurs Eurosport - Mon, 28 Jul 21:36:00 2008
Robbie Keane has joined Liverpool from Tottenham for £19 million on a four-year deal after passing a medical at Melwood - but the selling club remain unhappy with the manner the transfer was conducted.
More StoriesTransfer Talk: Full-back option Beckham's MLS report card The deal could rise to £20.3m in total, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy claimed the sale was "enforced" and the result of "behind the scenes" work.
"I was incredibly disappointed when I first heard, not only that Liverpool had been working behind the scenes to bring Robbie to Anfield, but that Robbie himself wanted to go and he submitted a transfer request," Levy said.
"I have already made my opinion clear on the nature of this transaction. I don't regard it as a transfer deal - that is something which happens between two clubs when they both agree to trade."
Spurs withdrew their official complaint to the Premier League after Liverpool acknowledged their public interest in Keane was inappropriate, however, and it is understood the Merseyside club made a donation to one of Tottenham's preferred charities.
The 28-year-old Republic of Ireland striker had been linked with the Reds since the beginning of July and replaces Peter Crouch, who was sold to Portsmouth for £11m earlier in the pre-season.
"I would like to place on record my thanks to the board, players and fans of Tottenham for the past six years, which were the best and most enjoyable of my career to date," Keane said.
"I will never forget them. I would specifically like to thank chairman Daniel Levy for understanding, that, as a fan, joining Liverpool is a lifelong dream of mine and one I couldn't let pass me by.
"I hope one day the Spurs fans, who have been brilliant to me, can understand this too.
"I have only good things to say about my time at Tottenham and expect them to go from strength to strength under Juande Ramos and Daniel Levy."
Keane spent six years at Spurs, scoring over 100 goals for the North London club since joining from Leeds in 2002.
The Ireland captain - who holds his country's record for international goals - started his professional career at Wolves before spending a season at Coventry and six months at Internazionale.
Keane is the fifth signing this summer for Rafa Benitez, joining David Ngog, Diego Cavalieri, Philipp Degen and Andrea Dossena at Anfield.
Liverpool have also declared their interest in Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry, although their reluctance to meet Villa's £18m asking-price has seen the move stall.

Good luck to Robbie (except when he's up against us). I think compared to the regular sulking / greedy b*st*rd attitude of C.Ronaldo / Barry / Adebayor / Lampard, Robbie has been absolutely professional about his transfer. No second thoughts, protracted contract battle, or trying to claim loyalty bonus, or whatever.
With our players now, it will be interesting to see how Ramos will respond to such massive personnel changes this season.

Still hard to believe that the little guy is actually gone. I hope Robbo does well. I hope Tainio does well. Maybe even Chimbo & Kaboul. But I can't say, I hope Keane does well. I know it's sour grapes but let him regret his decision.
Berba is still sulking. He'll be gone soon. So where does that leave us? Who will be coming in to bang in the goals for us?

Thanks Robbie for those memories...you've made spurs one of the most feared but unpredictable team in EPL in the six years that you were here...your commitment, dedication and never say die attitute towards spurs will be remember by the fans for a very long time and I put Keane alongsides the early 60's side (Blanchflower,Mackay n co.),Jennings,Mullery,Chivers,Perrymen,Hoddle,Ardiles,Sherringham and a few others...Robbie Keane is a true spurs legend and we wish you the best at Anfield.

Keane's place will be fill by Darrent Bent who scored 4 goals vs Norwish on monday and I'm sure bent will be the next keane and probably score more goals than keane,hopefully...the only problem spurs will face is who will replace Berbetov if he leave...its either villa, arshavin, pulchenko or???but he must be as good as berbi or better...to spurs fans, stay calm cos JR will sort out this problems in a short time...he knows what he is doing and what he wants.

come on people!!...get real... the problem with our club is we cannot offer more salary and CL spot and that make us much more like a feeder club to other giants...i'm very frustrated when keane leave..all this years we have lot of players like campbell, sheringham, carrick and the latest is keane to leave the club... and probably we will also lose berbatov..i'm not surprise if in the future we will lose modric and gio if they turn up to be great player for our club...if we continues to ship out our best players then i supposed we will never reach a CL spot and not even will win the premier league...our aim is to be the best EPL club.. we must hold our best players...give them a good salary and start seriously to claim a CL spot..

It's kinda chicken and egg issue. To generate massive income, you need to regularly play in CL or challenge for trophies and cups. And to do that, you need to have the best players, coaches & infrastructures, which, of course, needs a lot of money to acquire (Unless you suddenly have an Abramovich).
Actually, currently I'm quite happy with our financial position. Our wage structure is not comparable to the big 4 (not yet) and a couple of privately-bankrolled clubs, but we are better off than most others. In fact, I think most people are surprised that we always seems to have a lot of cash to spend on transfer fees without qualifying regularly for CL.
I think the only realistic way to achieve both target is for us to consistently punch above our weight, at least for consecutive 2-3 years of CL qualifications. With that, we can generate enough income and hopefully attract and retain the best talents.
